De Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 was Sail Magazine's beste 40-50ft cruiseboot 2018 en Europees jacht van het jaar 2018 in de categorie Family Cruiser. Het “walk-around” gangboord loopt langzaam af richting de stuurstand aan elke kant – u hoeft dus niet meer over dwarsbomen en luikhoofden te klimmen om van de cockpit naar het gangboord te komen. Je loopt gewoon om het roer heen. Het roer zelf heeft naar voren gerichte stoelen, zodat u kunt besturen zonder dat u uw lichaam hoeft te draaien en uw nek hoeft te strekken. Doordat beide luikhoofden scharnierend zijn, kunt u ze uitklappen om aan weerszijden ligbedden te maken. In het geval van het stuurboordkussen kan dit helemaal doorlopen tot aan de cockpittafel (met een opvulkussen). De cockpittafel is ook iets verschoven, waardoor een rechte doorgang mogelijk is, zelfs als één tafelblad open staat. De brede gedeelde achterstag, de dubbele wielen en het extra grote zwemplatform zorgen ervoor dat u gemakkelijk aan boord kunt gaan en dat u gemakkelijk toegang heeft tot de metgezel. Het motorstartpaneel is samen met de stuurautomaat, stuurkompastafel/spiegel en lichtbediening in de centrale cockpittafel verwerkt. Horizon voegt elektrische Harken-lieren toe die rechtstreeks vanuit de cockpit worden bediend, waardoor zeilen met korte handen gemakkelijk, veilig en stressvrij is. De Yanmar 45 pk duwt de gemakkelijk aangedreven romp met een kruissnelheid van 7,5 knopen. Dankzij het rolgrootzeil en de genua bent u binnen een minuut na het neerleggen van de ligplaats onder vol zeil. Perfect voor korte eilandhoppen in de BVI. De Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 is ontworpen door Jean-Marc Piaton en Rafael Bonet. De Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 indeling met 3 hutten en 2 personen zal groepen van 4 tot 6 personen aanspreken die in ruime luxe willen varen. De voorste hoofdcabine, met eigen toilet en douche, heeft dubbele deuren en als deze open is, wordt het gevoel van ruimte beneden geaccentueerd. In deze versie met drie cabines en twee cabines zijn er dubbele slaapplaatsen aan bakboord en stuurboord achter, waarbij het en-suite hoofd en de douche aan stuurboord ook toegankelijk zijn vanuit de salon voor gebruik door de gasten in de achterkajuit aan bakboord. Er is een generator aan boord, overal airconditioning en alle koppen zijn elektrisch. Er is een naar voren gerichte kaartentafel met een navigatiestation aan bakboord en aan de voorkant bevindt zich de kombuis. De kombuis zelf heeft een eiland met opbergruimte en fungeert tevens als handige steun onderweg. Er is een driepits gasfornuis en oven, dubbele spoelbak, vriezer en koelkast. Er is extra opbergruimte voor wijnflessen onder de cabinezool. Aan stuurboord bevindt zich een royale opklapbare eettafel met een centrale zitbank en er is voldoende opbergruimte onder de stoelen. Het licht eronder is uitzonderlijk, met romp- en dekpoortverlichting aangevuld met meerdere luiken. The “walk-around” side deck slopes gently down towards the helm station on each side – so no more clambering over thwarts and coamings to get from the cockpit to the side deck. You simply walk around the helm. The helm itself has forward-facing seats so you can helm without having to twist your body and crane your neck. With both coamings hinged, you can fold them out to make daybeds on either side. In the case of the starboard pad, it can extend all the way to the cockpit table (with a filler cushion). The cockpit table is also offset slightly allowing a straight walk-through passage even when one table leaves is open. The wide split backstay, twin wheels, and extra-large swim platform offer easy boarding and clear access to the companionway. The engine start panel is incorporated into the central cockpit table together with the autopilot, steering compass table/transom, and light controls. Horizon adds electric Harken winches operated directly from the cockpit and short-handed sailing is easy, safe, and stress-free. The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 3 cabin/ 2 head layout will appeal to groups of 4 – 6 people, looking to sail in spacious luxury. The forward master cabin, with en-suite head and shower, has double doors to access and when open it accentuates the sense of space you get below. In this three-cabin, two-head version, there are double berths to port and starboard aft, with the starboard aft en-suite head and shower also accessible from the saloon for use by the port aft cabin guests. There is a generator onboard, air conditioning throughout and all the heads are electric. There is a forward-facing chart table with a navigation station to port and forward is the galley. The galley itself has an island with storage and also works as a useful brace underway. There is a three-burner stove and oven, double sink, freezer, and refrigerator. There is additional wine bottle storage under the cabin sole. To starboard, there is a generous folding dining table with a central bench seat and there is plentiful storage under the seats. The light below is exceptional, with hull and deck port lights supplemented by multiple hatches.
