Dit ontwerp van Glenn Henderson is misschien wel de perfecte combinatie van stabiliteit, prestaties, comfort en eigentijdse styling. De brede romp draagt de balk naar achteren, waardoor deze stabiel blijft en tegelijkertijd de ruimte biedt om hem ruim en comfortabel te maken, met veel opbergruimte onder de dekken en aan de bovenzijde. De romp heeft een speciale “reflex”-functie nabij de spiegel die de weerstand minimaliseert, waardoor de boot moeiteloos door het water kan glijden. De 4' 6” diepe omgekeerde “L” loden bolkiel haalt de maximale hoeveelheid gewicht naar beneden om de boot bij een harde wind op zijn voeten te houden. Waar het echter echt schittert, is hieronder. Het interieur is verrassend ruim, licht en goed geventileerd. Goede houvast en de afgeronde teakhouten traptreden leiden je veilig naar beneden. Een enkele grote hoofd- en doucheruimte liggen aan stuurboord, tegenover een goed uitgevoerde kombuis aan bakboord. De werkbladen zijn van aantrekkelijk en praktisch wit gespikkeld Corian. Een roestvrijstalen rail fungeert als viool en houvast. Het tweepitsfornuis/oven is goed gemanipuleerd, maar zou wat meer hoek kunnen gebruiken als het op een cardanische ophanging staat. Er is een enkele maar diepe gootsteen. De kombuis is groot genoeg om handig in te werken, maar afgesloten genoeg voor veilig gebruik op zee. De eigenaarshut voorin is licht, ruim en biedt goede opbergruimtes. De dwarsscheepse gastendubbel ligt in het achterschip aan stuurboord. De Hunter 33 vertoont geen ongerijmdheden in zijn kernconcept. Dit is een eigentijds ogende, modern aanvoelende kust- of bijna-offshore cruiser, ontworpen om een heel gezin gemakkelijk, stijl en comfort mee naar zee te nemen.

This Glenn Henderson design is perhaps the perfect melding of stability, performance, comfort and contemporary styling. The wide hull caries the beam aft, keeping it stable while providing the space to make it roomy and comfortable with lots of storage space below decks and topsides. The hull has a special “reflex” feature near the transom that minimizes drag allowing the boat to slip through the water effortlessly. The 4’ 6” deep reverse “L” lead bulb keel gets the maximum amount of weight down to keep the boat on its feet in a big breeze. Where it really shines, however, is below. The interior is surprisingly spacious, bright, and well ventilated. Good handholds and the rounded teak companionway steps lead one safely below. A single full-size head and shower lie to starboard, across from a well-executed galley to port. The countertops are an attractive and practical white speckled Corian. A stainless-steel rail acts as both fiddle and handhold. The two-burner stove/oven is well fiddled but could use a little more angle when gimbaled. There’s a single but deep sink. The galley is large enough to work in conveniently but enclosed enough for safe use at sea. The owners cabin forward is bright, spacious, and offers good stowage spaces. The athwartship guest double lies in the stern to starboard. The Hunter 33 shows no incongruities in its core concept. This is a contemporary-looking, modern-feeling coastal or near-offshore cruiser designed to take an entire family to sea in ease, style, and comfort.
