Het was de eerste keer in jaren dat we een boot huurden om de Noord-Ionische Zee te bevaren. We hadden in het verleden al eens geboekt bij Sam Boats, maar nooit bij dit verhuurbedrijf. Er waren nogal wat problemen met de boot; de boegschroef was verwijderd voordat we de jachthaven verlieten omdat hij niet werkte, er moest een elektricien worden gebeld omdat de instrumenten niet werkten, er was maar 1 watertank in werking, de lier gleed voortdurend en het anker moest handmatig worden opgehaald als het in water dieper dan 12 meter werd gedropt. We hadden betaald voor een vroege check-in, vanwege de problemen die met de boot werden gevonden, konden we pas na 17.00 uur uit Gouvia vertrekken. Het bedrijf heeft het geld dat we voor de vroege check-in hadden betaald, wel terugbetaald. Over het algemeen hebben we een goede week gevaren, de lage beoordeling is te wijten aan de problemen die we met de boot hadden.
It was the first time in many years we had rented a boat to sail the North Ionian. We have used Sam boats to book in the past but never used this rental company. There were quite a few issues with the boat; the bow thruster was removed before we left the marina as it wasn't working, an electrician had to be called out as the instruments weren't working, there was only 1 water tank in operation, the windlass continually slipped and the anchor had to be manually pulled up if it was dropped in water deeper than 12 meters. We had paid for an early check in, due to the problems that were found with the boat we didn't manage to get out of Gouvia until after 5pm. The company did refund the money we had paid for the early check-in. Overall we had a good weeks sailing, the low review is down to the issues we had with the boat.
